Police interdict six Police officers involved in the shooting incident at Lamashegu in Tamale » GhBase•com™

The Ghana Police Service has interdicted six of its officers who were involved in the shooting incident at Lamashegu in Tamale over the weekend.

The shooting incident occurred on Sunday, February 13, at about 1 pm, and led to the subsequent attack on the Police by the youth of Lamashegu resulting in the death of one person and injury of several others.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident began when a police patrol team allegedly shot and killed a young guy driving a white Toyota Camry with a DV number plate who fled after being detained by the police.

After the bullet punctured his stomach through the back window of the vehicle, he is said to have died at the hospital.

Names of the interdicted officers were revealed in a press statement released by the Police on their official Twitter page.

The interdicted officers are General Corporal Samson Kweku Darfour, General Corporal Prosper Mormesimu, General Constable Harrison Twum Danso (Driver), General Constable Nuhu Muntari, Constable Doris Serwa Bonsu, and General Constable Mathew Sah.
